Life presents us with many challenges.
Our world often leaves us feeling fragmented and disconnected, leaving us to deal with our suffering on our own.
Through social media, we are flooded with images of who we should be and products promising to get us there.
In the process, we often lose our authentic voice and the pursuit of what we truly desire for life, as we continue to do our best to cope.
Therapy is a place to rediscover that voice.
Moreover, it is a place to make sense of not just what is happening to you, around you, and within you, but also a sense of that which you cannot avoid, that which keeps repeating, continues to haunt, and that which ensnares you.
Therapy has the potential to lead to reclamation. It is possible to change how you respond to this world, how you inhabit relationships, what you stand for, and ultimately even who you are as a person.
What if you had the freedom to choose?

Finding a good therapist can be hard.
While therapy has become mainstream and widely accepted as ‘good for you,’ it can be challenging to find someone with whom you click. People even have the experience of cycling through therapists, each one promising new hope, and yet things always end up the same. In its worst form, therapy these days can be a place for cheap advice, hidden sympathy, generic “expert knowledge,” or just another place where someone is trying to fix you.
The Freedom Clinic takes a different approach. While trained and immersed in today’s most current evidence-based and contemporary approaches to therapy and such issues as addiction, trauma, anxiety, and depression, we understand that each person’s journey to recovery is unique.
What we offer is a listening that honors the singularity of each story, its trials and tribulations, successes, and failures. We also dare to point to what is unsayable, what is unprocessed and repeating in your experience, and ultimately, the unconscious.
Rather than impose a particular way to think, be, or feel in this world, we allow you the space to create, destroy, and recreate who you have been and who you will become. We refer to it as a ‘psychoanalytic’ approach.
What is our approach?
There is only one rule of psychoanalysis, in short, to speak freely. Following the spirit of ‘free association,’ we encourage our patients to try to put everything into words, from the past to the present moment.
Through a trusting relationship with a clinician, various themes begin to emerge, and insight into the causes and conditions of unhealthy behavioral cycles, as well as the factors that drive them, becomes apparent.
Coupled with the integration of evidence-based approaches to treating addiction, trauma, and general mental health, our approach allows the patient the possibility of truly reclaiming their life, their well-being, and their freedom.
You can truly improve, and we are here to help. Call now for a free consultation.
About Dr. Anthony R. Morice, Founder and CEO

Becoming a therapist was personal.
Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, I experienced my own personal journey of addiction and recovery as a young adult, eventually emerging with a devotion to help others work through their own suffering.
That desire to help others influenced my pursuit of advanced training in psychology and positions associated with mental health.
My credentials and training follow.
I attained a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2019, publishing a dissertation titled “Mapping the Psychic Change” in which I used psychoanalytic theory to articulate the process of change inherent in the 12-step model, along with its limitations.
Throughout my career, I have held various positions in community mental health, including Clinical Director of a prominent addiction treatment agency in San Francisco, Ohlhoff Recovery Programs, where I spent several years overseeing patients and staff across three different levels of care.
Since 2019, I have been an adjunct professor at CIIS, teaching courses in Human Development and Addiction Treatment to graduate students. I am also a psychoanalyst with the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis.
In my spare time…
I enjoy time with loved ones and playing music.
